Commercial HVAC repair, replacement and installation

Rooftop package units, split systems, make-up air and ductwork for restaurants, offices, retail, warehouses and multi-story buildings. One licensed contractor for the equipment, the refrigeration and the sheet metal.

  • 14 years serving Central Valley businesses
  • Licensed C20, C38 & C43
  • Heavy equipment experience since 2000
Built for buildings

Commercial systems are a different job. We treat them that way.

A commercial building doesn't cool like a house. Rooftop package units run long hours through 105° Fresno summers, kitchens need make-up air to balance their exhaust, and a tenant space that's too warm costs a business customers. JP Air Conditioning & Heating works on this equipment every day — diagnosing, repairing and replacing commercial HVAC systems across Fresno and the entire Central Valley for 14 years.

Because we hold C20 (HVAC), C38 (Refrigeration) and C43 (Sheet Metal) licenses, we don't have to sub out the refrigeration side or the ductwork. Curb adapters, transitions, plenum and duct modifications are fabricated and installed by us, which means fewer contractors on your roof and one number to call when something needs attention.

Installation & replacement

New equipment, installed right — from a single unit to a full roof

When a unit is past repair, or a new space needs heating and cooling, we handle the whole job: sizing the equipment for the space and how it's used, ordering, crane scheduling, curb adapters and sheet metal, electrical and gas connections, startup and commissioning.

We install heating and cooling equipment of all sizes and work with the major commercial brands. Replacement units are matched to your existing curbs and ductwork wherever possible to keep roof work and downtime to a minimum, and we'll tell you plainly when a repair still makes more sense than replacement.

  • Sized for the buildingTonnage and airflow matched to the space, the occupancy and the Central Valley climate — not just "what was there before."
  • Sheet metal in-houseCurb adapters and transitions fabricated by us, so a different-footprint unit is not a problem.
  • Minimal downtimeCrane lifts and swap-outs scheduled around your hours so the business keeps running.

Common service calls

Sound familiar? Call before it becomes a bigger repair.

Most commercial HVAC failures give warning. These are the calls we get most often from Fresno businesses — and the ones that cost the least when caught early.

  • Unit runs but the space won't coolLow refrigerant, failed compressor or contactor, dirty coils, or an economizer stuck open.
  • Short cycling on and offOften a control, sensor or airflow problem — cheap to fix now, hard on the compressor if ignored.
  • Water or ice on the unitFrozen coils from low airflow or refrigerant; clogged condensate drains that can leak into the ceiling below.
  • Loud rattles, squeals or grindingBelts, bearings, blower wheels and fan motors — usually a scheduled fix if we catch it early.
  • Utility bills climbingDirty coils, failing capacitors, leaking ducts and poorly programmed thermostats all waste power.
  • No heat when the season turnsIgniters, gas valves, limit switches and heat exchangers — checked and repaired before winter.
How it works

From your call to a running system

Call or send a request

Tell us the building, the equipment if you know it, and what it's doing. Commercial calls are prioritized by urgency.

On-site diagnosis

A technician inspects the system, tests electrical and refrigerant, and identifies the actual cause — not just the symptom.

Clear options and pricing

You get a plain explanation of what's wrong and what it takes to fix it, with repair vs. replacement laid out when it applies.

Repair, test, follow up

Work is completed, the system is run and verified, and we'll recommend a maintenance schedule so you're not calling us for the same thing next summer.

Commercial maintenance programs

Keep every unit on the roof running through summer

Scheduled spring and fall service for single buildings or whole portfolios: filters, belts, coil cleaning, electrical and refrigerant checks, economizer and thermostat verification, and a rundown of what we found on each unit. Fewer emergency calls, longer equipment life, and a documented service history for your property.

Questions we hear

Commercial HVAC FAQ

Do you work on all brands of commercial equipment?

Yes. We repair and maintain all major commercial brands and install new equipment sized for the building, not just the brand that happened to be on the roof before.

Should I repair my rooftop unit or replace it?

It depends on the age of the unit, the repair cost and how much longer you plan to be in the building. As a rule, a unit past 15 years with a major compressor or heat-exchanger failure is usually a replacement; a younger unit with a control or fan problem is a repair. We'll lay out both options with real numbers so you can decide.

Can you handle the crane, the curb and the sheet metal?

Yes. We coordinate crane service, fabricate curb adapters and transitions under our C43 sheet metal license, and complete the electrical and gas connections, so you don't have to manage multiple contractors.

Do you service multiple locations or property portfolios?

Yes. We service commercial properties across the entire Central Valley — Fresno, Clovis, Madera, Selma, Visalia, Tulare, Bakersfield and everywhere between — and can set up maintenance programs that cover all of your locations.

What areas do you serve?

We're based at 1839 W. Olive Ave in Fresno and serve the entire Central Valley. See our service areas for the full list.
